Here is a view of the causeway that you encounter as you drive towards Cowell coming from the north and heading south.

Below is another view of the causeway in it's normal state. 

The only reason there is any water at all is because it washes back up the creek on high tides.  Below is a view of how it looked in 1991 after Cowell received some phenomenal storms and some phenomenal rain.

A fairly big difference, eh!
